Welcome to the Washington University Physician Network (WUPN) web page. We created this web page to help you connect with some of the best physicians in the St. Louis region.


WUPN is composed of physicians on the faculty of Washington University School of Medicine and select community physicians practicing throughout the St. Louis region. Ninety percent (90%) of all WUPN providers are Board Certified in their chosen specialty. Over ninety (90) WUPN providers are listed in the prestigious Woodward and White publication - "The Best Doctors In America".

WUPN’s sponsoring organization, Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM), has a long prestigious history of bringing cutting edge research and technologies to the field of medicine. WUSM faculty boast many notable awards and accomplishments including: fifteen (15) Nobel Laureates; twenty-one (21) members of the National Academy of Sciences or its Institute of Medicine; twenty-three (23) MERIT awards from National Institutes of Health; and twenty-eight (28) physicians receiving individual career development awards from the Public Health Services.   • World's first islet cell processing laboratory to isolate and purify insulin-producing cells for transplantation in persons with insulin-dependent diabetes
  • First to perform successful double lung transplant
  • Showing that a simple blood test can effectively diagnose prostate cancer in its early stages
  • Development of a cure for early stage hepatitis B
  • Pioneering lung volume reduction for emphysema patients
  • Development of surgical cure for abnormal heart rhythms
  • Worlds first nerve transplant using a cadaver donor and
  • Pioneering research into brain injury from excessive amounts of neurotransmitter
